Growing Together – How Our Design for Gartenstraßenfest 2026 Came to Life

Some projects begin on a computer.

This project began with paper, scissors, and many small ideas spread across our table.

When we were invited to create a design for Gartenstraßenfest 2026, one thing became clear very quickly:

We did not want to create just another festival T-shirt.

We wanted to create a message that would remain long after the event was over.

Gartenstraßenfest brings together three kindergartens, many families, educators, friends, supporters, and the local community.

That is why we spent a lot of time thinking about a message that could connect everyone involved.

This is how the idea was born:

Growing Together.

For us, these words mean much more than simply growing.

Of course, we first think about the children.

Every day they learn something new, discover the world, and grow step by step.

But we, as adults, grow alongside them.

Parents, educators, families, and everyone who supports children on their journey.

The entire design was created especially for Gartenstraßenfest.

From the first hand-cut paper shapes to the final illustration, every element was developed specifically for this project.

The process started with small paper collages.

Shapes were cut, moved, rearranged, and combined again and again before the design gradually evolved into its final form.

It was important to us that the design would not only work for one day, but could continue to be worn afterwards as a reminder of community, support, and shared growth.

Over the following weeks, different color variations, mockups, and print tests were developed.

Together with the participating kindergartens, the final version slowly took shape.

Today, the first T-shirts are being printed, and soon the design will become part of Gartenstraßenfest.

This makes us especially happy.

Because for us, this project is more than a design assignment.

It is a small contribution to a community that helps children grow.

And that is exactly what Gartenstraßenfest is about:

Bringing people together and creating something meaningful together.

Growing Together.
